Talking to yarn

Is it a sign of illness when your yarn is talking to you? How about when the yarn wins an argument with you?

An example:
Teresa: Fuzzy green yarn, what do you want to be when you grow up

Fuzzy green yarn: (proudly) SLIPPERS!

Teresa (with a sigh) but I would have to swatch. You sure you don't want to be a scarf?

FGY: SLIPPERS!

Teresa: Lets try a multi directional scarf... You are variegated.. Should look nice (http://douma.net/Karen/knitting/Accessory-Scarves/Multidirectional_Diagonal_Scarf.htm)

FGY: See! I don't have stitch definition, and the variegation isn't enough to pull the scarf off!

Teresa: You just need help... Lets try the white yarn like you.

FGY: Nope, don't want to work with the white.

Teresa: How about the purple like you?

FGY: Kinda like that! Looks like a bruise! Perfect for someone recovering from an illness!

Teresa: *Rips out in disgust*

As you can guess, after several false starts, today we started on slippers.
