The simple things in life

Lil Bit's favorite kind of toy right now seems to be balls. Cheap, and easy to provide
cases in point:

My mom bought the baby a $2 mini bumble ball... You pull the string and it wiggles around. Great for entertaining her in restaurants


Speaking of restaurants: We went out to eat with my mom today. It is her birthday. (No, I won't say how old, but she would tell you.) When we were done eating, Lil Bit checked out the pie case like always, then saw the vending machines! She checked them out, and I had an idea! In one machine were big bouncy balls that looked too big to choke on. I bummed a dollar, and showed her how to turn the crank. She was so impressed by it, that she tried to turn the crank to get another one!

The last ball I wish to tell you about is the one we picked up a few days ago. We went to the toy section of a discount store (being an union employee, no I won't admit to WHERE, but yeah, I was being bad). After looking around, I told Hubby that I would be right back, and picked up a 97 cent play ball. I went to give it to Lil Bit, and Hubby pointed out that it was dirty. So here I am going through the store with Lil bit SCREAMING "BALL BALL BALL" and me holding on to it, and explaining we would wash it soon. Another customer came to my rescue, and gave me an anti bacterial wipe, and all was good with Lil bit's world

Mind boggling

"They know how to survive." these children are 7,2 and 1. What the stereotypical @#$%???? Two of these children are BABIES.. And somehow they have survial skills because they live in a bad neighborhood?? Lil Bit's grandparents live in a bad neighborhood too, and Lil Bit visits them all the time.. Does that mean that I can leave her with kidnappers and she will be ok, no worries???

ETA: The children were found dead. I feel sick and disgusted

Three days in a row! Can you believe it? Actually just want to show you a pic. I call it Daddy's Lil Girl. (If you know Hubby, you know why.)

I am pouting

Lil Bit had a diaper rash unlike she has ever had before. I asked hubby if he knew she had a rash, he said yes, and he put ointment on it. I went into the dresser, and found that he had used A+D ointment, which we had not used since she was tiny. I had him look, and yes, it was worse than before he treated it. I looked at the active ingredients.. It has LANOLIN in it!!! Please don't tell me my darling little girl will be allergic to WOOL! I am going to cry.

First an announcement: I now have a new nephew. Hubby's sister in law had a baby boy two days ago. I am told that he doesn't look a bit Asian, and that he will be home on Wendsday. I will report more on that when I get to see him.

My best friend is getting married Oct the 5th (yes, I am aware that it is on a Thursday). Another friend and I had a shower for her yesterday. It went very well, and The bride was happy over everything. I stressed over cleaning and over food... And let my other friend stress over decorations and games. Not going to show pictures of people, since they haven't' given permission.. But here are a few other pics:

Today I saw that Yahoo messenger has FINALLY made plus sized avatars.. (Look in the outfit's section for the female avatars) Kudos for that, but HEY, they don't look too much bigger than me, and I am a size 14. Just because someone isn't a twiggy little thing, doesn't make her plus sized! Just an opinion.

I was looking through a bag of clothes my best friend gave me, and found clothes that can pass for pioneer clothes for Lil bit. (would show a pic, but Blogger is being difficult all of the sudden) I have a friend that says she can make me a bonnet for her :) I plan on having the outfit for a local sci-fi con we go to every year. People go dressed in historical as well as fantasy clothing.

A few quick notes

Lil bit went to see Disney on Ice last night, my sister in law might have a C-section today, I am throwing a bridal shower tomorrow, and I have to be at work in less than an hour! WEEEEEEEEEEE! Talk to you all later.

Happy Birthday to ME!

Well, I am 32 today. I don't look a day over 25, so I count my blessings. I really think the secret to that one is waiting till you are 30 to have a baby. Who knows really. My dad has a baby face too.
I have to work all weekend, and longer hours than I am used to.. Go figure, it is a party weekend, and I sell the booze and food. I will survive. I get off at 4:30 today, and my parents are taking us all out to eat.
I get next weekend off, and my mother in law has agreed to watch the baby Saturday night ALL NIGHT. What more of a birthday present do I need.
